The Hills SVL Training Room will return in 2010 with a 3 day program of FREE seminars, training and workshops.

Please see below for a brief timetable.

Day 1 – Tuesday

10am: Hearing Assistance Technology – Complying with the new legal requirements and choosing the right solution for your project - This course looks at the range of different hearing assistance technologies available and in what situation each different technology might be implemented. Also covered are legal requirements as specified in anti-discrimination legislation and how that is applied to the Building Code of Australia. Practical demonstrations of various technologies will be performed.

11am: Sound Reinforcement in Difficult Spaces - Large reverberant spaces are difficult to cover evenly with traditional speaker systems. This course investigates the use steered array systems to improve intelligibility and solve the problems caused by long reverberation times.

12pm: Audinate -Some applications of Dante audio networking, presented by team members from Audinate, the creators of Dante. Dante is a new audio networking technology that builds on the advances in networking of the last decade, and comes from Audinate, a Sydney-based development team. Lab.gruppen (PLM series), Lake processors and MediaMatrix (NION) are among early adopters

1pm: Integrating the Unintegratable - Just because it has an RS-232 port or an Ethernet, doesn’t mean you can control it. This course discusses tips and tricks for getting disparate pieces of gear talking to each other.

2pm: Directions in Digital Projection – Investigating technologies such as 3D, LED light sources and direct control of the DLP™ chipset, this course will shed some light on some poorly understood projection technologies.

3pm: Prodigy  – Crestron’s New Affordable and Simple Control System - An introduction to the Crestron Prodigy family of entry level control products, this course describes the products in the family and how to go about configuring a basic system using the Prodigy wizard from Crestron.

4pm: Australian Monitor’s Digital Solutions - For many years, Australian Monitor has made a name for itself with cost effective and robust analogue products. Now with a range of digital solutions Australian Monitor offers 21st century features and performance at a price everyone can afford. This course highlights the Australian Monitor Revolution family of products and shows where they can be used.

Day 2 – Wednesday

10am: Crestron HDMI Solutions - So, you are designing a new presentation space or home theatre. Have you thought about how you’re going to display and distribute High Definition Content Protected material? This course showcases the Crestron DigitalMedia system, the ADMS Intermedia Delivery System and the Procise High-Definition Surround Sound Processor.

11am: Upgrading your Analog Crestron System – You have a campus full of analogue presentation systems and you’re wondering how to integrate new technologies like DisplayPort and HDMI without starting over again from scratch. This presentation will show how to retrofit digital content capability to your legacy systems.

12pm: Australian Monitor’s Digital Solutions

1pm: Hearing Assistance Technology – Complying with the new legal requirements and choosing the right solution for your project

2pm: Creative Thinking – MediaMatrix NION Applications - This course will show some creative new ways to use your NION DSP audio processor, including subjects as diverse as scripting to control a video switcher to the use of Acoustic Echo Cancellation.

3pm: Prodigy  – Crestron’s New Affordable and Simple Control System

4pm: Integrating the Unintegratable

Day 3 – Thursday

10am: Creative Thinking – MediaMatrix NION Applications

11am: Audinate

12pm: Hills SVL Conferencing Solutions - The concept of the Digital Conference Room will involve the integration of different technologies comprising audio, video, data, control and transmission.
The conference will include facilities like electronic voting, camera control, microphone management and recording, among others.
